is it safe to trust someone if it says they r a vendor?

trying to buy some used parts w this vendor. problem is he joined the site this month and doesn't have much interaction with the site. (last time i checked he had only 7 posts) another problem is that he is located outside of U.S. (Romania)

We've been contacting through e mails and he seems pretty legit(he sent me some pics of the products and even a link to the companys facebook site) but just didn't feel comfortable enough to finalized the sale.

his user name is ducati-parts.(hey if you are watching this thread, don't take it personal, just trying to get some opinions from others if they had any bad experience w so-called vendors in this site.. )

thanks in advance, guys.

Ask him to give you a reference from a member of this board.

just because they are a vendor doesn't mean anything... anyone can pay to be on here. However, once a vendor has interacted with different members you generally get a good feel as to how they behave.

One thought in dealing with a new vendor... they pay pretty good money to get that status on this site, the ducati community, even after all this expansion, is still relatively small.... so I think any vendor that goes to the troulbe and expense of advertising on here is looking to create a good reputation.

Proceed with caution, but give the guy a chance to prove himself. (and then let us know so we can jump on your bandwagon )

i just wanted to post up and said i finally went ahead and ordered the parts from him. good email communication, but everything was shipped from romania so it took a while to get here... around 15 days. but the parts looked like the pics and i cant really complain about anything.

i do have to say i was a bit worried till the package came in today though haha
