1199 Panigale eye candy

My next bike perhaps? The specification got me all excited but I wasn't sure about the design .... unit now. Man, how can you NOT LOVE the 1199? It's not perfect (like the rear header pipe, 'side' shock, and mirror design)... but that's the exact reason why we have after-market parts...

Enjoy it!

I bet Erik Buell is laughing his ass off. The Japanese copied his underslung muffler idea. Now the new Panigale has it to. Ducati has been hell bent on putting the mufflers under the seat on their super bikes for a while. Now they're changing it. They're finally joining the mass centralization effort Buell has been preaching for a long time. Good for Erik Buell. He knew what he was doing with a lot of his design efforts. This should also help eliminate most of the burned asses that have been reported on the 1098 series bikes. Don't get me wrong. I do like the looks of the mufflers being under the seat. I really liked the look of the 916 when it first came out.

I think the bike looks fantastic. Some soft curves in the bodywork that seem reminiscent of the Desmodsedici with added new lines and an aggressive front end. I like the Tricolore version, it looks great but perhaps not as good looking as the 1098 Tricolore of a few years ago.
Ducati have gone all out to make a beast of a bike and I just hope they win lots of races with it. To my mind, producing this bike makes up for the Diavel .... I think this bike shows they are still a "balls out" racing oriented company... I mean if the accountants were still completely in control, the Panigale would have been canned ages ago don't you think?

Love the whole video "checkmate" thing.... cocky, arrogant and a slap in the face for their competitors...... shows a good attitude.

Now lets see how Roland Sands can screw this up and turn it into another dumb ass, crass and utterly tasteless idea...
