Tuneboy software - what features are enabled?
I emailed Tuneboy about their comments on their software. Her email found in another Streetfighter thread (see below), alludes to more than one map and on-the-fly swapping of the map among other features.
I believe someone pointed out the Streetfighter couldn't make use of this feature. Still, since Emma was responding to a Streetfighter owner's question about the software, I asked her to elaborate on what Tuneboy had in mind for our bike. If dynamically swapping maps isn't a supported feature for our bike, what would stop them from making the feature available? Is it a memory issue (not enough), no input from the clutch (need another switch) or something else. If anyone's already got an answer from Tuneboy on this I'd be interested in hearing it. Sorry if the answer from Tuneboy has already been posted. A stuck this question here so as not to muck up the Tuneboy FAQ. It's big enough already.
<<From Emma:
The new TuneBoyTrim software that works with this new device allows you
to switch between three different trim maps, and make immediate changes
while the motor is running. (This is not yet available for all makes
and models.)>>

The Tuneboy is such a mystery. If they just had better support and documentation they would probably be the go-to device.
They need to start running their company like a business.

Amen to that, I would love to return my Tuneboy and go with someone that actually responds to emails and offers support. It could be such a great product.

I totally agree. However, I cannot be happier with my Tuneboy system. According to Doug L, he was also working with the program. If Tuneboy's business plan is to have "local" tuner's working with the product for sales and installation then I think it is a great idea......As long as they tell us that is the plan....

See Emma Macdonald's response below. I assume TuneBoyTrim is part of the basic package and not an additional piece of software. Curious as to how their software knows the clutch has been pulled in. I didn't know there was a sensor on the clutch system.

Hi Dan,
Thank you for your inquiry.
The new TuneBoyTrim software allows you to switch between three
different trim maps, and make immediate changes while the motor is
running. (This is not yet available for all makes and models but is
available for the SF range.)
e.g. Map Mode 1 = a full power map, Map Mode 2 = an economy map, Map
Mode 3 = a wet weather map with the ignition retarded. Map Mode 1 uses
Fuel Trim 1 and Ignition Trim 1. Map Mode 2 uses Fuel Trim 2 and
Ignition Trim 2. Map Mode 3 uses Fuel Trim 3 and Ignition Trim 3.
This will take effect in real-time and it will be remembered from
start-up to start-up.
While you are on the road you can swap maps by simply pulling the clutch
lever in and out five times. This must be done in a two second space to
take effect. The needle on the speedo will then move from 0 up and down
to indicate the map you have selected. The needle will only move to
indicate the map mode selected if the motor is not running. e.g. If the
speedo needle moves up and down once, you have selected map 1. If it
moves up and down twice, you have selected map 2. You can move up in
sequence until you have selected the correct map.
Kind regards,
Emma Macdonald

If all this actually works then it's going to be one cool solution for SF engine tuning. Apparently they've got a QS and Auto Tune mode in there as well.
