Death Race... Are there track officials? Blind corners, sun in your eyes, LOTS of stationary objects to stop you suddenly if you lose control. Heart Pounding!

IOM was on the GP calendar for many years until the FIM saw fit to cancel it. Now all of their races are on carefully groomed closed courses. Rossi was offered a lap last year, and he declined to try it.
It's similar to F1 where the classic road courses have gone away.
The IOM is the last real challenge left in motorcycle racing, and that's why it's still in existence.
