848 SF deposit placed
Because I know you care intensely, I'm letting you know I placed my deposit for my 848 SF today. This will be my 3rd Duc and I'm hoping 3rd time's a charm. First was bought back by DNA, second was totaled by me.
I'm pretty happy with the deal. Pretty happy they took me back in the shop to meet the lead tech; spent more time with him than the sales guy. He let me twist the throttle of a hypermotard he just brought back from a test ride after fixing the fueling with a PCV and lambda optimizer...holy crap! Low RPM fueling issues solved.

i put mine down about a week after they announced the bike
haha, they got me when i asked about it and they said that 3 were coming in in feb... but one was already sold. i wanted the red so i put my money down for it and just sold my 796... though i do wish it did sell a bit later... kind of annoying that i dont have a bike to enjoy that fall riding.

Glad I'm not the only guy in the country to put down a deposit on this bike. I've bought new before, but never put down a deposit on a bike that has yet to enter the market.

A lot of us here put money down on the F1098 well before we ever saw it in person.
I put a deposit on mine about 8 months before they were released and unfortunately I sold my Monster even before that!
I did have another bike to ride though... a 1098 tricolore that I hadn't planned on putting a whole lot of miles on.
But in the end I was glad I had that time with the 1098 - I really bonded with that bike.
At least you guys have a really good Idea of what you're getting - you can look, touch, and sit on the F1098.
Good luck with your baby streetfighters

Any idea on what the OTD will be? Its hard to pick which dealer to go to because they all will beat the price of the other guy but if no one gives me price to start with its kind of hard to put $$$ down even if it is refundable. The only quote i got was 16.5, i calculated it should be closer to 15.8 with freight dealer set up and ca tax at 9.0%

Tax and registration are the biggest variables if you're shopping in different states, which I did. I asked the dealers to give me an OTD price minus tax and registration. I got price quotes from $13.2k to $14.6k not including tax and tag. I went with the cheapest dealership and I'm glad I did. As we were writing up the sales contract he looks at it, I look it, we both look at our emails, and then realize there's no freight in the quote he gave me via email. "Well, looks like I won't be charging you freight."
My OTD, no tax or tag, was $13,194.

I haven't paid freight or set-up on the last 3 new bikes I've purchased...

Indeed. The most I've paid for any bike in the last 20 years is MSRP OTD.

I figured I got a great deal OTD with my '10 SFS. It was just delivered to the establishment and put together - $19,500.

those are good prices, i haven't found one ducati dealer yet that doesn't tack on $500 freight and about $800 set up. i am going to try to get a price from one of those mega dealers that sells every thing from watercraft to dirt toys and multiple motorcycle brands next. i would rather use $1400 twords a termi system.
