Difference between the Air Filters?
Does anyone know if there is a difference between the DP Race Air filter vs the K&N Filter vs the BMC Air filter?
Is the K&N just as good as the DP Race filter?
I have used K&N's over the years, but not BMC.
All claim to provide better air flow.
Local dealer doesn't have the DP in stock (of course)....
All run close to same pricing....

If you do a search on the forum there should be some comments on that already.
Some have said that the stock air flow plenty. The foam replacements would flow normally a tad more but you'll need to ensure they are properly oiled otherwise it would let additional dirt inside the engine for sure.
Performance difference is yet to be determined.
I purchased a race pipercross on ebay (from a 1098) for $20 shipped. Can't imagine it being worse than a K&N or BMC though the BMC appear to be getting the best reviews.

P, why not order the filter thru your dealer and be done with it?

I'm not going to bash another filter... but if you are not running the K&N, take a good look at the manner in which the ends seal to the side covers. I had another filter (that was not cheap) on there after some work was done, and from removing it and putting it back in a couple of times, the metal mesh ate through the ends, got bent up, would not seal.
The bad part is that this can happen right away if you are not 100% careful. Not good to be sucking straight air un filtered.
The K&N is built like a brick sh*t house. Well designed. And worth every penny you pay for it. If you are trying to save money, then buy kmart jeans but dont skimp on a K&N.

Like I said, local dealer does not have it in stock. (As usual)
It's not really the mone. Just curious of peoples' experience with various air filters on Ducatis...
