Ducati performance slipper clutch

Hi all,

I've been searching for awhile and i would like to know if anyone has tried or know the difference in terms of feel between these 2 slipper clutches.

1) Ducati Corse WSBK Style 4 Spring Slipper Clutch (968590AAA) | Pro Italia AND

2) Ducati Performance Street Slipper Clutch (968318AAB) | Pro Italia

I have to choose between the two because it is a 'freebie' from my dealer. I'd like to know what your opinions are regarding the clutch pull, performance, maintenance intervals, how long it usually lasts for and most importantly, what would be best for me as i ONLY ride on the streets (highways mostly but with the occasional traffic in the city).

Anyone with any experience with the two or either of them please help me out here. Thank you!

Well,

On my F1098S, I have the EVR installed. After talking to Randy at Bellisimoto, he claims to have well over 10,000 miles on his set-up. So I bought the same EVR slipper that he's got, from his shop online. For me, the EVR has had a good amount of street, and track miles, and it’s still going strong without any issues or adjustments since day 1.

I’ve the 1198SP as well. And that one had the DP already installed from the factory. I was anxious to get it to the track to see and feel the difference in handling, but once getting to the track, there wasn’t any noticeable difference between the two that I could feel. But then again, I’m not even close to the fastest guy out there.
I can say this tho. Not sure if it’s cuz the SP is still newish or not, but at a harsher take off, I could definitely feel the slipper slipping as I let the clutch out. But I vaguely remember feeling the same on my EVR, when she was still newish as well.

Clutch pull isn’t going to really be tweaked from the slipper, as it is with the slave that you’ll be using. That being said, here is my set-up:

EVR: 32mm NCR Slave/matched with the EVR slipper clutch
DP: stock slave/matched with the DP slipper

If you go with the EVR, get the EVR 28mm slave. Otherwise, you’ll have problems setting things up, unless you’re a good mechanic etc. Do a search on these forums, and you’ll see all the issues that others have had, when trying to match up an EVR slipper, with some other manufacturers slave. Although I did it, it took some work around in order for it to come together the way I like/can tolerate it.

If you go with the DP, go with the matching DP slave. Or just try out the stock slave. Clutch pull is a bit hard giving with the slipper and the stock slave, but I’m a very athletically built fella, (bench press 315 for reps/sets) so a little harsh pulling clutch pull for me, isn’t much of a bother. But for the smaller people, I can see why that would be a concern. Plus, I don’t really use my bikes for the street anymore, where clutch pull is a regular thing….

So far, no problems with either set-up that I have. Hope this helps. Post up should you have any other questions.

IMHO,

I'd go with this one of the two, that you've posted:
Ducati Corse WSBK Style 4 Spring Slipper Clutch (968590AAA) | Pro Italia

This one is adjustable. But check to be sure that it comes with the springs supplied or not. May be an extra cost, that your dealer isn't going to be willing to "gift" to you.

Good luck!

I have the DP Strada (Street) slipper on my SFS. I also had one on my 749S. Works great, no problems. Used on both the street and track.
