Termi slip ons installed

I installed my termi slip ons and ecu the other day and it all went well. I went in for my first 1000km (Australia) service and TPS reset and the dealership just rang me and asked if they could reset my throttle bodies and balance something? (I know what you are all thinking the mechanic is giving me the run around - I dont think he is, he is quite good and have knowledgeable)

Apparently I have run into some trouble. My DP EC that came with my kit (purchased from Motovation) will not hold any values which the mechanic is trying to save to the ECU and the bike is running way rich.

He has suggested that I hunt around on the net and find someone who will flash my stock ECU, once I have this I can then reinstall it give it to the mechanic and he will tune the bike.

From what I have read this is not the normal process for these slip ons.

I would be interested to hear from anyone in AUstralia who has purchased termis from the USA and had similar issues.

Also if anyone knows anyone who can flash a stock ECU and ship it back to AUS then that would be helpful.

Thanks

No, it's definitely not normal practice.....the TPS reset for the DP (Termi) ECU is a straightforward 5min job (unlike older ECU's, the TPS values are "reset" virtually.....ie, they simply need to be re-calibrated via a computer link - VDST - or similar). My guess is that if your mechanic fiddled with the actual throttle bodies then they may be out, effectively making any TPS value useless.......I'd recheck the throttle balance first.

Thanks Jonny, once again you have provided me with helpful information.

I have been reading up on the tuneboy solution, is this something you would recommend or have done?
