not sure on pricing as it really depends on many factors, but if you want THE BEST paintjob, find DT996 on this site... he is truly one of the very very best in the biz. you can find bikes he's done for other members, as well as the tribal streetfighter for Motowheels where he pioneered a rubberized paint finish with inlaid designs... whether that's your style or not, it is an amazing show bike.
Here is a "how-to" thread Dan created on this forum... he's not a guy to hide his methods... this will show you the length of prep and precision he employs on one of his projects: Ducati painting from a Painter's perspective

I'd suggest you check with the local DOC and Ducati dealers. Find out who they use. A complete respray and clear coat of the plastics and respray on the frame...I'd say your into it for $1000 to $1500. Just a guess based on work I've had done. If you were up here in the Pacific Northwest, I'd highly recommend Russ Foy, Custom Classic Paint Works.

I'm getting it done on my SF right now (probably will have the panels and body painted over the winter).
Frame and wheels are going to powder coating, that'll run me around $400 with their prep (w/o the subframe though I think it would only be another $75 for that).
The bike's already apart... I'm expecting (budgeting) around that much $1000/1500 for a nice paint job to be done. No airbrushing in that.

Thanks for the input, i probably would just do the plastics first, nothing against red, just don't want the popo's catching that bright ducati red out of corner of their eye and giving me a ticket
