Kick stand is a bit too long... or just me?
Yip - I having a hard time to just park my bike on the side of the road with road crown (in US road - travel North on the right). The bike is standing too up-right, and few times I almost drop my bike to the right! Not sure the kick stand is too long, or it being pushed too close to the bike when in use. For the same length, if I can change the angle bit, it will help a lot. Also, is anyone notice when the kick stand in use, the shoes (the bottom flat area) is not fully 'flat footed'? Is there any replacement product out there would fit SF? Or I just simply bend the connector a bit outward?

Yes, it is on the tall side. You could always see about buying a spare ebay kickstand and section an inch out of it. It seems that would be enough IMO. Since it does place the weight of the bike mostly on the vertical of the stand, I don't see it being too stressed if a good welder took some length out of it... Just might require some additional rod to help hide the difference in thickness.

Whatever you do don't try to bend the kickstand or any mounting brackets while it's on the bike. The kickstand bolts directly into the engine case. If you apply to much pressure you could damage the engine case. Any bending or cutting modifications to the kickstand or mounting bracket will need to be done with the kickstand off of the bike.

Thanks for the tips and I agree totally. I thnk the best is take it out, cut it 1" shorter at the end, and weld a new plate at the end (the stock is ok, but wider is better) - still have to powder coated it later. I am thinking to add a litle side arm too - my after market fix peg is longer than stock, and it is hard for me to 'search' the kick stand...
Hmm.. I found this: CycleCAT Kickstand
But it's for older Ducati. Is anyone know will any of the Cyclecat stand work on SF-S?

This would also be an opportunity to make the pad larger so you wouldn't have to carry a stand plate.

++1 Squirrel!
Also, may want to look at if additional torque will have implications down the road relating to how the stand is mounted to the case.
I'm shooting from the hip here....
On my SFS I would say it stands at a good stable angle.

Have you lowered the bike? Lowering the bike will have the effect of lengthing the side satnd. The opposite is also true.

that would be my question, flying got me...
lowering the bike will make it stand in a more "upright" position than usual...the opposite is also true as flying says...

also cutting 1" is a pretty drastic change IMO. The lean will be quite significantly increased (cut the stand on my last bike, only did a 1/4" or so and the lean was already changed quite a bit).
I'd say measure it up before cutting it up.

The height of the bike is standard - never been lowered. 80% of the time the kick stand works fine - just when I want to stop on the side of the road, the height different on the road surface will just make the bike so up-right that beyond my comfort zone...
