SF or Multi
Dilemma.....I have and love the Hyper but want a SF or Multi to join the family. That's the question........SF or Multi??? Any help or suggestions?? I have a Suzuki BKing right now that will give way to my new obsession. I just want another v-twin. The Hyper is a blast to and from work and short rides.....but want something else to fill the gap on longer rides or trips.
Thx all.....

Go test ride both of them and see for yourself which you like better. I've ridden both at distance. They're both good bikes for different things. "Longer rides or trips" doesn't tell us much. My advice would be to test ride both of them and see for yourself. They're both fantastic bikes. No kidding! They really are.
Both good on the track? Yes
Both good on the street? Yes
Both good off road? No
Both sexy? Yes
Both comfy? Yes
Both fast? Yes
Both carry a lot of shit? For the most part, not really
Both the same price? Yes

Lol...
Just completely different bikes. SF's probably a lot more intense and would be fun if you plan on track days or short local rides (couple hundred miles a day to keep it pleasant).
If you're planning on longer trips or riding in different weather conditions the multi's probably ideal.
I would still go to a dealer and try them both to get an idea of how comfortable you feel on either.

I thought my BKing wouldn't be good for trips either but its not that bad. I mean it is no FJR or Concours but its doable.

Having owned a Busa I can tell you the sf is probably a little more demanding and definitely not as comfortable (w/o a comfort seat at least)
Wind protection is null. Coming from a Z1000 the bikini fairing on it helped more than what's on the sf which has nothin.
That said riding at legal speed on the Hwy isn't too bad, just think she's less painful on the twisties.
Multi would probably be a lot nicer on a roads.

I love my SFS, but if it's longer trips you want to do then get the MTS 1200. If it's for the pure fun of it, get the Streetfighter (but, I'd guess that's probably the role of your Hyper). Hopefully flyn will chime in here since he current has both. Either way, you'll be grinn'ng.

If you are firm on keeping the Hyper ... Get the Multi. IMHO -the streetfighter does (almost) everything the Hyper does - Just Better!!! BUT! The Fighter is at heart a "play" bike... The multi seems more utilitarian, yet has some VERY sporting options available...

From all Ducati models I find Multistrada the least interesting if interesting at all. I understand when someone can't decide between 1098 and 848, Streetfighter and 1098, Monster and Streetfighter. But choosing between Multi and Streetfighter should be really straightforward: of course Streetfighter!
