It states that but I'm not 100% certain. I have a G2 that fits perfectly in a size 48 Euro jacket . I was told that it was for 50 Euro and bigger but works for me...

This
is only $75, free shipping. It's a more low profile design than the Wave G, oriented towards street riding. The Wave does offer better protection, though.

The Wave G2 is still comfy on the street and yes it offers more protection...

I'm sure the Wave is plenty comfy. My point about the Shield is that it's low profile, more discreet. So if you commute to work or ride out to a nice restaurant and don't want the race hump look but still would like more protection than the cheap foam pads found in many riding jackets it's a good option.
I've tried on both, and neither of them disappear into the jacket, but the Shield is significantly less noticeable. But, as pointed out, the Wave is more performance oriented, i.e. better protection. So it just depends what you want.
