I have a 2002 Ducati 998 engine that I have owned since new. It has 19K miles and is completely stock. I have the complete service history documented. I am selling because I purchased a 998R engine and frame and have no use for it. The motor is at DesmotoSport in San Francisco. All services on the motor have been performed at their shop since approximately 6K. Prior to that it was serviced at Monroe Motors.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the engine. It was valved and shimmed at 16K within the tolerances Desmoto specifies for their race engines. It did have the oiling problem, not once but twice. Hence the change from Munroe's to Desmoto. Well sorted engine ready to bolt up and go.

I know the asking price is low but as stated before, I have no use for it unless I win the lotto and decide to get a record on the salt. Otherwise, I'll trade the engine for a set of 108mm billet Brembos for my other project bike.
