FS or Trade: 2004 749 Salvage Title
Just gauging interest. My 749 Dark was hit for the third time while parked on the mean streets of Pittsburgh. I don't know if it's me or just nice things in general as my friends GTI has been hit 3 times in the last year!
Anyway, the tank was scratched, the tank is 2500, the retail value of the bike is a little over 5k, so they cut me a check and slapped a salvage title on the bike.
What's broken:
left mirror broke off
left mirror strut broke off
rash on left side plastic
scratches on tank
All the clutch fluid drained out from the hit, so I can't shift gears but the engine runs just fine. I was going to get this fixed and then drive it over to my mechanic, but winter time is coming and I'm starting to think this 749 is cursed. This is my third bike and none were hit before this one.
Anyway, it has 12k miles on it and is due for the maintenance. Besides aesthetic damages to plastic and left side controls and the drained fluid I don't think there is anything wrong with it.
I don't even know what I could get for this, but I'm willing to make a good deal for someone who wants to track it out. I mainly took the salvage title instead of more cash from the insurance company because it seemed so sad to junk a perfectly good engine/bike.
I'll post pictures later

I'd think 2500 would be a fair price, but I have no idea how much it's really worth. I'll post pictures in a few.
