FS: 2008 Hypermotard 1100 - very low miles, tons of aftermarket parts
2008 Ducati Hypermotard 1100 - Loaded with extras!
1,500 miles +/-
Reason for selling: (1) I work too much, then (2) a couple months ago we had our first child. My wife isn’t pressuring me to sell it; I just don’t foresee much time to ride in my future. Hell, I only put 1,500 miles put on it in 2 years before we had a kid! I bought it about this time of year in 2009 as a prior model year leftover... then started buying parts when I wanted to be riding it - but was working instead.
Price: Firm at $12,500. We can play the game and say asking $13,500 if you want... but I prefer to be up front. I won't sell for less than $12,500.
Rationale: I can sell the bike, put to stock, for $7,500 on ebay. The BST wheels will also sell immediately for $2,500 on ebay. The cost of the extras totals a whopping retail price of $8k... I'm basically trying to get $2,500 for over $8k worth of parts. I'm not trying to get every last penny back. I don’t NEED to sell it but I feel bad that I’m not out enjoying it.
Pitch: This bike is so fast, so quick turning, it's like a 10-speed with a bottomless pit of Ducati torque. I never got comfortable enough with how quick it was, and had big plans for tuning once I was more comfortable on it. The velocity stacks and power commander 5 will serve to increase the output of this bike to the 90-95 horsepower range with a proper tune. The BST rims are just absurd. There is so little gyroscopic effect at speed - you'd be wise to give yourself some adjustment time before riding above 50%.
Needs: Belts should be replaced. It's got 1500 miles on it over two years... it fires up as new when I start it. The battery has been on a tender but it wouldn't surprise me if the battery could use replacement as well. These things have been considered in the price.
I have the clear title in hand. Bike comes with all keys, cards, books, tools, etc as it did when new.

YouTube Video of this bike found here!
(disregard the ebay message at the end... I had it out there for a week in August)
Upgrades:
Carbon Fiber everything. Fiberglass-backed wet-lay twill weave carbon fiber that looks great especially when painted or re-cleared. 2 pieces custom painted. Cost $2,200 - custom order.
BST carbon fiber front and rear wheels. Cost $3,700. Rear brake caliper modified to fit the 5-spoke BSTs as shown on the Hypermotard.
GP Suspension 25mm fork cartridge (fully adjustable). $1,200 custom order.
Ducati Performance steering damper. $750
Ducati Performance Comfort (gel) Seat. $200
Speedymoto Front Axle, Rear Axle, & Through-Frame Sliders. $280
Speedymoto "Leggero" open belt covers. $325
NCR Corse APTC Slipper Clutch. $1,800
MPL Tuning Parts Billet Aluminum & Titanium Clutch Basket. $600 - no longer made due to high cost!
Yoyodyne 32mm Clutch Slave. $200 (I recommend going to a 28mm – trouble getting neutral as the 32mm lever throw is light and easy but not long enough)
STM Ti Wire Clutch cover. $120
Ducati Performance gold rear sprocket flange. $200
DucShop Velocity Stacks kit. $300
Outerwears Hydrophobic Pre-Filter Covers (custom size, black color). $40
Fast Frank Coil Brackets for use with Ducshop stacks. $50
Power Commander 5 engine tuning unit. $280
Ducati Performance 708B ECU (closed loop; accepts PC5 engine tunes). $400, separated from the 2-1 Termignoni exhaust system
Arrow Thunder Carbon Fiber Racing full exhaust w/ss caps. No cat. No baffles. Amazing sound. $1,700
Rizoma Black Aluminum fluid reservoirs x3. $190
Rizoma Black billet Aluminum fluid reservoir brackets x2. $100
Rizoma LED Track 77 rear turn indicators. $50
Ducati Performance integrated Anti-Theft Alarm. $350

Bump.
Who wants to save $2,000 over an EVO SP and have a lighter, faster, louder bike? I know you're out there...
I could work with my local shop on a consignment basis if someone wanted to finance the purchase... send a PM to inquire.

I've been trying to sell mine for a couple months now. Super, yours has a ton more goodies than mine. I hope you get what you want for it.
I just got done dealing with a guy today who strung me along for two weeks saying "hells yeah, I'm going to buy that!" Today he gives me the, "Sorry, not the right time."
I don't get it.

It's a case of wants and desires conflicting with ability and circumstance.
I want nothing more than to buy a Hyper - or trade my friend his Hyper for my 749 - but financial obstacles keep appearing that require me to divert my resources.
Times are tough ... for everyone.
Patience, boys, they'll eventually find new homes.

Hey fellas... thanks for the posts! It's a tough time of year to sell a bike and I'm on the top end... but that's ok. I'm realistic that it may take a while, and I'm not heartbroken if I keep it... My wife is in the camp of who cares if I put 1,000 miles a year on it. I wish I had more time every time I get out there!
I don't think any of our bikes are out of the realm of reasonable asking price. I tend to think of mine as an "extended demo" with all kinds of bling. There's what it's worth, and what someone will pay for it RIGHT NOW. Most of the time they're significantly different numbers.
Good luck with your sales, fellas. I've been down that road before hoopty...
Back to being patient.

Patience is key. Especially if you're not hurting for the money. Someone will buy it.
In the mean time, back to enjoying one of the most kick ass bike's in town

Times arent just hard...There are (as a for instance here)100,000 bikes for sale....and 30,000 buyers...It takes a lot of extras...and low miles...and stoopid low pricing...and it sucks to be a seller...
Please...all of you ...I wish nothing but success to you on the sale of your beautiful bikes...but the reality is...at least right now...if you have to sell...a bath is what you will take...
