2004 749S, 1000 miles, SoCal area, fully gone through!

I hate to get rid of it, but to many toys in the garage! Bike is in Orange County, Ca. $8500.00

Up for sale is a 2004 Ducati 749S.

The previous owner (with to much money) bought the bike for 17k in 2003, proceeded to put 32 miles on it, tryed to show off for his then girlfriend and crashed it into a wall. He then parked the bike in a company warehouse until I bought it late last year. I bought the bike, replaced everything that was either damaged or scratched. This bike has been totally gone through, stripped down to a bare frame. It has the 05+revised 749R wheels/plastics, Ohlins front forks, new black frame, SHORAI battery, roller bearings in the steering head (common problem is the OEM ball bearings get loose), and more. Upon completion of the rebuild I took the bike to Ducati Newport Beach for them to lookover and replace the timing belts. I changed the oil at 600 miles with good MOTUL 300V oil. The timing belts have a 2 year change interval so those needed replaced. After that I rode the bike to work out any kinks. The bike currently has 1000 miles on it, maybe a little more as I still ride it on occasion.

This was a great project for me! I spent 7 years in the motorcycle industry and I took great care putting this bike back together. Because this was'nt a "rush" job I took the time to torque every componant to Ducati specification. Everything that was required to be greased or thread locked was done so.

The bike has a couple minor scratches on the gas tank that I have'nt bothered touching up. Besides that the bike looks and rides new.

This bike is decent on gas to. It gets between 38-43MPG depending on how hard you ride. Not the best, but the smiles per gallon is off the chart! Because the engine was "new" it was not until the last tank of gas when I got to ride it a littlle more aggressively.

Please don't bother me with low-ball offers. You can look the bike over from head to toe. If you give me notice I will also remove the side fairings to view. That being said, no test drives unless you are serious with cash in hand. I spent months on this bike and am in no hurry to see it go!

The bike comes with both black keys, the red key, a keycard.

All the best,
Aaron Lephart

So.. A few questions... It is not salvaged? Didn't sound like it but I wanted to be sure. Stock exhaust? Only upgrades are the wheels?

Sorry for the delay. Its been a busy day. One of which involved going to the DMV to get a new plate for the Duc! It fell of on the street.

No it is a clean and clear title with the last reported miles of 17 a couple months ago.

Stock everything (except maybe now a fender eliminator kit)

I guess the 749R plastic, seat, wheels would be considered a upgrade over a stock "S". The Ohlins Road and Track forks are upgrades as well. From what I have been hearing they are better then the ones that came on the 749R anyhow.

Where are you located? The bike sells itself once you see it in person!

All the best,
Aaron Lephart

Nice job on the 749 but how is the Brammo?

I see you are moving up to the new one. Love to get your impressions. I have been watching the elec bike and car scene with lots of interest.

The Brammo is great.

@ about 9k miles on the Brammo. As with anything "new" you worry about dumping alot of money down on something that will be unsupported. There have been a couple minor issues but the local service tech came right to my house to fix them. The customer support surpasses even OEM levels at this point. I have a thread about the bike @ Brammo Enertia electric motorcycle - Off topic lounge - smart car owners general chat forum - smart car owners forum model 451 fortwo - Discuss upgrades, modifications, ideas

There is another thread on that forum of me converting a Honda Del Sol to electric.

Someone please give my Duc a good home!

All the best,
Aaron Lephart
