My 800ss is officially for sale
For sale: 2005 800ss. 23,000+ thousand miles. Never had an issue with the bike. Not ONE. Starts strong, pulls strong. Never been crashed, but, unfortunately, it has been dropped a couple of times.
It ain't perfect, but I have kept it decent looking. It has aftermarket slip-ons from the previous owner. That's the only mod that I know of that has been done to the bike, other than the REALLY bad hack job I did to the rear hugger.
I want $3000 for it. It comes with a brand new set of Pirelli's that still has the tag on them.
That's a fair price. You want it?
Please feel free to ask any question that you have about the bike either in this thread, or by PM. I've got nothing to hide. I'll answer every question straight up.

I think this "for sale" thread should work the opposite of other threads since the starting price is too low and doesn't factor in the celebrity ownership issue. So, all offers should be in increasing value each time.

Sad to hear you are letting it go. You know you will miss it.
Pics or it isn't real. Might help to add some bling and get the misses to pose on your trusty ole steed.
So, new 2012 model in the future?

You probably should mention the side fairing "gill" mod that you did.
If you are selling this bike and you really like the little FZR, you can have the best of both worlds of Fizzy and Italian and buy the 1991 Bimota YB-10 Diece that is for sale in Raleigh, NC. Its a "little" bigger than a 400, though.

Are you selling for the money or to upgrade?
Have you considered a ST2, 3, 4 or 4s ?
They handle better than your 800 does & a bit more versatile, plus more power available.
My 2 cents (I am a bit biased)

I've not advertised the bike anywhere else yet. I'm hoping someone here would want it. You know, keep it in the family type of deal. If I have to put it in craigslist, I'll list it for more.

Hell no. Too much damn money. I will though, a couple of years down the road, start shopping for a 'slightly used' Hyper. That's the Ducati I like and want.

Meh. I'll have another one one day. Right now I need some extra cash due to a house purchase I'm about to make.

OOPS! forgot about that. DD is correct. I cut out those stupid ass looking 'shark gills' with a nice open shape and filled in the void with black screening. I'm gonna post a pic this evening. Gotta go to work now.
