I also don't think that in- or decreasing the tie rod length will change the linear behaviour of the shock. The pivot point of the swingarm is not the same as the shock/tie rod.

so specifically to the 1098 set up...........why would they shorten the shock length by what 8mm when you use the corse rocker? is tat just to get it to fit or for something to do with the ratio?
