Oil, Lubricant, etc for 2002 M750 - Ducati.ms

I just bought a 2002 M750 and am trying to decide on what fluids to buy for it. The manual recommends all types of Shell Advance. Should I just stick with these or does somebody have any insight into other good ones.

I know absolutely nothing about oil, lubricant, etc!

plenty of oil chatter in the archive so a search will keep you busy for hours. synthetic or dino, auto or motorcycle specific- you'll find good arguments on either side. for the price good oil is cheap insurance even if you prefer to change it frequently for your air-cooled bike.

i'm a shell rotella synth supporter. rumored to be the closest thing to advance which is not marketed in the US.

since the bike is new to you, the condition of the belts is every bit as important as the the fluids.
