Heck why not!

Year:2001
Model:996R
Eng size:998
Pipes:Termi's
Seat:Stock
Wheels:Stock
Accessories DP carbon mirrors, 999R carbon belt covers, Carbon sprocket cover, On the way but not delivered. Catalyst RS upper fairing with large intakes, Sebimoto RS intakes, CF corsa heal gaurds. Custom led brake light and turn signals. turn signals will be hidden in the front intakes and rear tail vents and brake light will be where the reflector goes on the rear tail.

Story:

Well after selling my last 996r over 4 yrs ago I got the bug to start looking again. I went on google, this site and a few others and typed in 996r and up came a brand new never started only 2 mile bike. I started looking into it more and sent the owner a pm. After a few days I recieved a phone call from Tom the owner. We chatted for a long time about the bike/period of the bike and ducati at the time and just had a great time getting to know each other.
So after about a month of phone chatting and emails we came to an agreement and it was settled. I sent Tom a deposit and a few weeks later I left lincoln for austin. After 12.5 hours later I arrived at Toms shop to see the garage door open and 2 other duc's sitting there. Oh what a site. After meeting Tom in person for the first time and going over his other bikes first...I turned to the 996R. Covered up in a red ducati cover. I slowly uncovered it and saw her in person for the first time. Holy Crap it was awesome. Still not believing it was really mine we walked around it chatted for a few more minutes then had a beer.
After calming my nerves we decided to load her up. Boy was my heart racing, just thinking of all that could go wrong, But none the less we got her in the truck and were on our way.
On the way home I kept in constant contact with Tom letting him know how far we were from home and that everything was going great. Even today Tom and I still talk and I hope that we continue too.
This is by far the best purchase/sales event that I have been a part of. I got a new bike and a new friend.
Thanks again to Tom for the great bike and to ducati.ms for a great site.

Beautiful bike. but out of curiosity, how does a bike that has never been started have 2 miles?

Yes, that is a nice find for sure. Do you plan to ride this or just keep it as home art?

that is such an awesome bike....sucks Tom sold it, lucky you got it!! I still can't see how someone can get a bike like this and never ride it. I can understand not riding it much or taking real easy because it is rare....but never running the bike is a crime. How can someone not want to hear the beautiful sounds it will make???

This is probably my all-time favorite Ducati (it is really a tie with the 996R and 998R)

I can't believe you had a 996R once before....only to sell it and then land another one that is brand new !!

I agree. Its such a hard one for me on the 996r or 998r. I love both so much, but the 996r was the first R so it draws me in just a little more. Plus it was really the first ducati that I ever really just had to have. Dont get me wrong I liked the other bikes(916,996) but when the 996r came out it was one of those OMG I have to have one of those someday.

I also cant believe how lucky I am to have purchased a brand new one. The last one I had was the same way to. Only had 8 miles on it when I bought it. But that was 5 yrs ago so this one is even more extreme in the sense of how low the miles and age.
