Carbon 1098S
Year: 2007
Model: 1098S
Eng size: 1098
Pipes: Full 70mm terms with heat wrap
Seat: Sargent
Wheels: Forged aluminum Marchesini
Accessories: Carbon Fiber nose, mid and belly fairings, carbon fiber air runner covers, key guard, dash cover, V fairing, timing belt covers, under tank panels and chain guards. Custon "R" replica paint, Acculign rearsets, ASV levers, Dzus fasteners, Ergal belt Roller Kit, silicone and aluminum water hoses, DP open clutch cover, DP red pressure plate and Speedymoto water pump.
And the story: Bought the bike new sight unseen before the NA unveiling of the 1098 in 2007 with the Term slip-ons already installed and tuned. After one season in Maine I had the full 70mm exhaust installed and dyno tuned. Shortly after moving to WA to start my new job with Boeing I wrapped the exhaust and then had a low speed lowside. This expedited my upgrading of the OEM fairings and rear sets. I love the number plates used on the "R" and I wanted to keep a basically stock appearance so I opted to paint the fairings OEM red but keep the 1098S and Ducati emblems as naked carbon instead of putting on decals of having them painted back on.
Future plans are to remove the heat wrap and get the pipes ceramic coated black, install an aftermarket ECU (still trying to decide on Nemesis or Power Commander), and upgrade to an aftermarket clutch slave (again trying to decide which to go with). Eventually I want to strip the bike and powder coat the frame and rims gold and the swing arm black.
