2012 Ducati 1199 Panigale Preview (with renderings)
We're still a few months away from 2012, but Ducati looks to be taking hold of the title for most anticipated new bike of the year with the successor to the 1198, the company's flagship superbike.
Rumors had been running rampant as to what the official name of this new machine will be. Everything from Xtreme, Superquadrata (super-square, in reference to the engine's highly oversquare bore and stroke measurements), to, simply, 1199 have all been thrown on the table. Ducati finally put the rumors to rest after recently unveiling its official name: 1199 Panigale.
For the first time, Ducati's superbike range will depart from its traditional numerical nomenclature. As in past superbikes, "1199" is in reference to the engine displacement, while "Panigale" pays tribute to Ducati's hometown of Borgo Panigale in Bologna.

Please Dear God
Let Ducati include RACE ABS.
The new extended swing arm is so welcome vs. the 1198! This thing will be on rails and weigh next to nothing, esp in the S version!
Now if Ducati could put together some wins on this thing it will be the greatest Duck to date!
Can't wait for this bike!!!!
PS too bad the fairing isn't as streamlined and simplified a la the desmosedici......oh well.....

Getting married here in early 2012.
Seriously considering selling or trading in the baby (03 base 999) for a base one of these. Yes I'd have to do payments...but a damn factory warranty would be nice for a change.
Have their been price discussions? 1198 base's were circa 16 if I recall correctly?
I want this bike, a set of leo's, a tune, and a new suit. Nothing else is needed.
I guarantee you, if I get this bike within 2 months of its release date, I'll be the first person to get it to 10,000 miles.
Quote me on it.
ALSO!
Seems to me like they already have a termi for it...

Digital rendering dood......might be similar to the actual bike but my guess is it is an assumption of what it might look like from spy shots......speaking of spy shots, what is with the monster riding that thing. What happened to the mythical 170 lbs Italian rider that conducts the suspension set up for these.....
