Thumbs down '06 Is A Bad Year To Order Marchesinis...Rant

I've recently posted in the past that I'm going to put some Marchesini 10 spoke gold wheels on my ST2. I placed my order back in late March or early April...I can't remember which. I was told that special orders would require a waiting period of 8 to 12 weeks.

Now approaching 5 long months later, I'm told that it will be another 3-4 months to get my wheels here to the US from Marchesini in the size and color I ordered (stock 5.5"x17" rear wheel). This means I can expect shipment of my wheels in November or December!!! Greeeeeeat!!! I live in the north east where the riding season is just not long enough.

The outfit I ordered them from offered a great price and the people there were very helpful. It's not their fault that there is a poor supply from Marchesini.

I was also told that Marchesini was going to/had moved into a new facility and was also experiencing some personnel changes. Production and back orders are at an all time high this year. Suck! It looks as though I'll have to wait until next year to experience reduced rotating mass and added bling factor. The new sprocket, chain, and tires will also have to wait.

Sorry for the rant but I'm more than upset about how things have gone with ordering these wheels for my Duc.

We had some of the gold forged 10 spoke aluminum wheels in stock several times this year. Most of the time they were 5.75 though ( which is fine for the ST). We might still have a set...

We have some 6 spoke (5.5 rear) Bucci forged aluminum wheels right now for only $1575/set. They are a little lighter then Marchesini

the little upside-down label at the bottom of the rim that says "Marchesini" might be a good indication that those are Marchesini wheels.....

Doh! I did not even see that. Nonetheless, is it just me or does that wheel somehow look different, like the spokes are thinner or more spread out? Maybe it's a race version of the wheel.

I've just received my 10-spoke Marchesinis, ordered them on Friday.

However I looked into getting them a few months back and was quoted 8 weeks delivery..... Domani eh?
