Duc runs bad

Hay gays want out to start my 750 Monster and it runs like the choke is on my buddy said its the carb's so i took them off cleaned them and the bike still run like crap. I took the bike to my buddy but before i got there i hear this pop like a backfire and it came to life and run good the rest of the day about 50 miles..... Today same thing runs like the choke is on Any help

what year is the bike?
how many miles?
when did this issue start? any mods done prior to the issue.
when was it last serviced?
is the gasoline old?
it could be so many things. From as simple as a fuel filter clogged up to need of routine maintenance.

1999,just over 12,000, I changed oil,filter after I got it about 3 mo's ago, gas is good prem, Changed fuel filter and blew out the fuel lines. but I just noticed that the fuel is just a trickle out of my tank (could the fuel pump be bad?) is it like that normally?
And it started about 3 weeks ago and want away and now its back today
