Ride: LA to Iowa
Greeting all! I'm a S2r owner for 6 years and a friend turned me on to this site (Paul Smart, Super Light, S4Rs). I'm heading to California this coming Tuesday, May 18th, to pick up an ST4 from Del Amo in LA. I plan on riding it back to Iowa, about 1800 miles. my route isnot yet picked, and is open to suggestion (avoiding weather). anyone have suggestions?
Anyone want to meet up and tag along for a stint of my voyage?
cheers,
alan

I once rode from waterloo, ia to south padre on my monster it was a blast, but the trip back up 35 sucked its straight all the way from ia to texas where it ends. I would suggest planning some better roads than superslab for your trip back. The trip there isn't bad riding straight highways because your so excited to be getting their and the trip is a new exciting experience. Once your headed back though it is hard to stay awake on the long straight highways and resist the urge to just drive as fast as possible.
Haha just saw your sig, GO HAWKEYES i'm a former hawkeye myself.

How much time do you have?
I'd stay off the superslab, but it will take you a lot longer to take the scenic route.
For instance, if you make it to Durango, Colorado, you could take 550 up to Montrose, then 50 to Pueblo. Very pretty ride. But twice as long as the superslab.
