Oberon bar end signal questions
I'm about to order these for the hyper, and I have 2 questions for you lot.
-how did you do the wiring... I'm assuming the wires go inside the handlebar, so then a hole would have to be drilled somewhere in the center to connect them. I can't figure out a neat way to do this... any ideas?/pictures of installs would be great.
-as far as crash protection goes, I know these are made out of billet, but I'm sure they won't slide as nicely as if I had real sliders as my bar ends. The bike will also have front/rear axle sliders, as well as frame sliders... will having the oberons negate the advantage as the bars will touch first?
thanks in advance for your help

I've got the Oberon bar end signals installed on my 1098 and I love them!
I can tell you that they are quite beefy and durable, and if you lay her down, they will stand up to the punishment and act as a proper slider. Now sure you will still want to replace it when you get her home, as she would certainly be rashed, but it's not the worst thing that can happen in a crash.
As for drilling a hole in the bars - Use a 1/4" bit, and put the hole in the exact middle on the bottom so it would not be visible or let water in.
Lastly, if you were planning on ordering these from us, don't forget to mention that you are a forum member in the payment notes so I can refund you your 10% member discount - http://bellissimoto.com/OberonElectronics.html

ha, thanks for that. ok, I'll order them from you guys... timely response!
If anyone has any pics of these mounted on a hyper, which has the raised handlebar, I'd be interested to see how the wiring works it's way down past the top triple.

Let's see pictures and get your impression as soon as you get them on the Hyper.
I'm really interested in a new look and something that is quick to remove for track days.

Bars are going to provide a lot of the sliding support but sadly, they still don't protect the fairings. Damn those things are expensive.
I am interested in the Oberons but think bar sliders with handguards to protect the bar controls and some standard mirrors is probably optimal.

I have these on my SF and I love them. However, I cannot see how they would offer ANY protection in a crash (even a small one). The attachment mechanism is definately NOT designed to withstand a crash and would surely snap off quickly.
