powder or paint?

are the 848/1098 frames powder coated or painted? how bout the wheels? thinking about a frame/wheels/swingarm paint or powder.

P.C. would be my choice without a doubt, but mask bolt holes with throw-away fasteners first so you won't have to chase the threads.

wheels i think powder coated the frame call up a dealer they might tell you

Well all Ducati's stuff comes in pre-painted, assembled, etc. That said, I would highly doubt if the frame maker ?(Verlicchi...Pierobon?)
would PC the frames. Todays "piants" are quite durable do to the added hardeners. The wheels are made by Brembo/Marchesini and they have some sort of anodized coating in either flat or semi-gloss. The added "weight" of the thick PC would defeat the purpose of light wheels.
I'm sure a painter here would know much, much more.

I'd rather have a properly done Imron paint job. It wears like iron, and was originally developed for painting jet aircraft. Powdercoat is nothing but a thermoplastic.
