Streaming Motorcycle Races for 2010
I dumped satellite TV for a media center PC and over-the-air HDTV and could not be happier. My only regret is no motorcycle race coverage (sans 2 motoGP races). I viewed SBK races on worldsbk.com for 2009 and was looking forward to getting SBK in 2010, but I see that as of now, they will not be carrying them.
So, does anyone know of any other sites that will carry streaming internet race coverage?
Geoff

The only way to see WSBK/BSB is to get Eurosport on your computer. MotoGP is a simple subscription on their web site.
This is difficult when living in the US because its seriously blocked.
I got the HD eurosport feed to work using a proxy server, but sadly the bandwidth through the proxy is way too low and the video has to constantly buffer.
The standard eurosport connection using Windows Media Player seems to be sent using MMS (microsoft media server) and using double encryption. For some reason "access is denied" when trying to access the files through the proxy server.
So far, I've not found an answer to this problem. Everyone I've talked with has reported complete success using a proxy server and the standard eurosport feed. The only thing I can think of is my particular internet connection is somehow blocking the MMS signals.
Thats the skinny, www.eurosport.co.uk is the site. You can't even create an account without having a proxy server. Here is where I'm getting the addresses from: http://www.freeproxylists.com/ and I'm just clicking on the UK proxies only link at the top left. The best ones seem to be with the port 8080 and of course you want the lowest ping if possible.
It should work on PC no problem, mac's just need flip4mac installed. Ohh and if you don't care about "live" broadcast, PM me and I have another solution for WSBK/WSS that works great, but can't be said publicly.
Good Luck!

It's not a service, I take advantage of the FREE HDTV available via digital broadcast (over-the-air). You remember - antennas. Connected to a PC running Media Center you can view live TV and record programs that rival the best Tivo systems at HD quality.

Actually, proxies don't seem to work with eurosport's site anymore, they use too.
The solution is a proxy server and SkyTV. Yea, it costs money, but you don't have to pay for a proxy, just the sky TV subscription.
Its kinda low-rez though... one issue, though it does work.

Umm, how do you get any races over the air waves in the US?
Also, Hulu, TVShack, MotoGP and Eurosport sites have on demand playback, so having a PC recorder is kinda useless. Every show on TV is one of those web channels and only the eurosport one is difficult to deal with in the states.

The only 2 races that will see coverage in the US are the 2 motoGP events held in the US (if same as last year).
I dropped satellite in favor of over the air for a number of reasons. My point was that I was hoping to see WSBK via the web without having to pay. Kinda defeats the purpose of dropping satellite for cost issues.
