Solar Eclipse 2017

Who's going. August 21'st there are 3 points on the Cherohala Skyway that are ground zero for totality. One point just happens to be right at Duckman's Curve.

I'll be there for sure.

My house will be in the 95% zone so we're planning on staying right here. Should be something to see. I don't recall ever being in totality.

Solar Eclipse 2017

I haven't. Imagine experiencing it at 5000 feet on the Cherohala with your riding buds.

I'm planning on taking a bottle of 25 yo Macallan.

crazy busy with family and work this year, but must admit it's tempting....just thinking out loud, could truck down Sunday or even leave Saturday after work, ride and experience eclipse Monday, ride Tuesday, truck back Wednesday....hmmm....with a New England or NY area co-pilot or two could pull a trailer and drive non-stop....

I remember the one from July 11 in 91, I was somewhere in Central America, 100%, seeing it with no filters, just with the naked eye, gorgeous , a sight you never forget.
Hopefully the one in august will happen during a clear night.

LOL! Solar=sun. Lunar=moon.

This could be the most epic bike trip to the Dragon yet.

I made reservations in Tellico back in October. My GF and I will be towing a toy-hauler (she's not yet done a 500 mile day. Maybe 1/2 that). Toy hauler is small and only fits 2 bikes.

We're praying for clear skies, and decent weather the rest of the week to play on the Cherohala , Dragon, Smokies, Wheels thru Time, etc.
