15M ecu - help!
Ok, so my bike has the MM 15M ecu with flashable eprom. As I've discussed in the thread in the Supersport section called "running too rich", my ecu is not working correctly. I swapped out the ecu for one from a Monster and it runs better, but now has other problems. So, given that this thing has a flashable eprom, where do I get this done? I would like to find someone who can test this ecu and flash the eprom to put it back to the oem map for my year. I don't know where to look or who to ask. I've sent a couple of emails to dealers but have not heard back yet. I feel that products like the Power Commander and other piggy back systems are bandaids when the oem ecu has a flashable map in it. I can mail this ecu to anyone who can check it out and verify that it's good or bad. The VDST software will not do this, since they state that their product will not work with an ecu that has been flashed. So, I'm stuck right now. These ecu's are incredibly expensive from the dealer, so I'd like to find a way to get mine repaired if possible. I don't want to keep swapping used ecu's in there to find one that works properly. The Monster ecu I have in there proved to me that my problem with my bike is wtih the ecu most likely, since the bike idles really well and runs much leaner with it as compared to the Supersport ecu that came with the bike. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
I sent my 15M ECU off to BCM Ducati today for testing and possible reflashing. They are an Ultimap dealer, so hopefully they can help me out.

Check out a performance/dyno tuning shop in your area. They should be able to tune the fuel maps with a wideband 02 and then flash your eprom for you. Only thing is dyno time can get pricey.

Thanks, I haven't looked into that. I kind of doubt that someone local can flash the eprom on my bike, since it's not common like a Harley. I bought a wide band O2 sensor, the LM-1 from Innovate Mororsports. I got it because Techno Research says that it interfaces with their VDSTS. I don't even know if this ECU is good, so I have to figure that our first. The Monster ECU doesn't work very well in my bike, since the injectors are different and it has a different map, but at least it let me know that the problem was in the ECU and not the injectors, or at least I hope that's the case.
I just think it's outrageous hat Ducati doesn't provide a service for these ECU's, and that they have the nerve to charge $1,300 for a replacement! It just makes me want to go out and buy a Yamaha or a Honda instead. That little silver box is worth a few hundred at most.

Yea I've heard good things about LM-1. Check around in your area, any place with a dyno should be able to flash it for you. Just a thought but give the ECU a shake, the eprom chip could have came loose.

There is no eprom in a 1.5 ECU.
BCM has all the necc equipment to reflash your ECU, you sent it to the right place.
That said, you can also purchase "Direct-Link" tuning software from Technoresearch, http://www.technoresearch.com/Produc...nk/Direct-Link it is software that will allow you to change your fuel tables, spark map tables, the setting of your rev-limiter, allowance to add a W02 sensor and on and on.
an LM-1 is a digital Wideband air/fuel ratio meter, it cannot change your mapping, only tell you if it's "on target" It does come with logging software [once set up, you can go for a ride and come back, download data, review]
http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/index.html
Of course, as stated earlier; dyno time is required to make the most of any tuning software.
btw: one of the best Ducati tuning shops around is in your backyard.

Thanks, I know about Donnie. I can't get my bike there though. I'm just getting into this so I don't know what I want to do yet. I'm just going to have to save up a lot of money to eventually get my bike to him, but right now I just want it to work, and I want to be able to verify that the bike is running ok. So, I want to be able to diagnose the ECU and fuel injection. That's why I bought the LM-1 and I'm planning on getting the VDSTS. I'm not a racer nor am I doing anything exotic to the bike. Thanks for the information though. I really appreciate all the help I'm getting here.

I'm pretty stupid....I missed this entire post....
If your ECU does turn out to be bad, check ebay. I see them floating around there regularly.
