First of all, I would like to tell you all that: WE WILL PRODUCE THE HYPERMOTARD! Thanks to the capital increase, the enthusiasm shown by Ducatisti and the work done in research and development, we have decided to add the Ducati Hypermotard to our production schedule, without giving anything else up. We are also going to reduce the development time thanks to the work done while the bike was still a concept. So… THE DUCATI HYPERMOTARD WILL BE READY IN YOUR DEALERSHIP BY THE SPRING OF 2007!

Apparently some buyers in the UK have put deposits on the purchase of the bike.

Check this out. Nicely done [from a flash perspective]. Note: some of the flash links to pics and stuff do not work. What do you want for free?

I put a deposit on one over a month ago with my favorite local dealer and I'm 3rd on the deposit list! Not UK but SF Bay Area, Hattar Moto to be precise.

REALLY disappointed the production will get a dual front disc. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!!! The Ducati engineers had it right the 1st time with a lightweight single disc on an SM bike. These are performance bikes, please let real riders and engineers design bikes not some stupid survey completed by idiots who haven't a clue how to ride a SM bike. I'm guessing 10% or more also wanted ABS, linked brakes and heated grips. Ya, I know I can always just remove the right rotor and caliper like I did on my KTM, but the original design was so close to the perfect big SM, the production version is looking like a Multistrada with a lower seat. Very glad to see the production approved, now if I can just figure how to pair off even more mass to get it under 350lbs and install a slipper clutch, then i'll be a VERY happy man. Take care.

I'll be contacting Dave, at Ducati Seatle to put my deposit down. I'm non-too-happy with the Ducati Dealers in the SF Bay area and will give my money to a dealer worth supporting.

I agree with bigmac on the brakes. Single is the way to go. For the same reason, I wish they'd used the 999 swingarm - which is MUCH lighter and stiffer AND cheaper to produce than the stupid, stupid heavy single swingarm like on my 996. Eve picked one of those things up? It's f#cking crazy heavy! It weighs nearly as much as the entire rest of the frame!

This is the problem with market surveys - even so-called performance bikes get design votes that appeal only for their looks, instead of their function. Functions follows form too damned often.

Single Front dic Brake

Unless Ducati has done the unthinkable and reduced bike weight substantially, you will need the dual front discs to scrub off speed.

The real issue is to take wieght out of the bike to enable just one disc.

but this isn't a 'REAL' super motard bike?

Supermotards are much lighter, smaller motors, etc.

thus the reason they never called it a Super Motard in the first place?!

It's typical ducati, take an idea, and engineer the hell outta it and built the hell outta it.
