Question Cagiva Mito 500 info?

Anyone have any in-depth info on the Mito 500? I've searched and I couldn't much other than specs. I had a Mito 125, and to this day I still miss the damn thing.

Last i heard, they ARE making it. Don´t know much more then that.

Still "only" a low-revving Husqvarna single with ~60 Hp.. I really wish they´d do a Supermono setup on that engine and giving her 9k+ revs, that would be a sweet trackweapon. The wetweight is reported at 135KG/297lbs

Since your profile shows you live in VA, you might as well forget about it. This bike won't be coming stateside.

Cagiva was soliciting feedback at the Atlanta International Motorcycle Show this past weekend re: whether there was enough interest to bring the Mito 500 to the US. It is being considered. Whether it happens...we'll see. If you're interested, let Cagiva know. I think the rep said the potential price was under $8000.

Wink

At the Minnepaolis show I spent some time with the Cagiva guys who were passing out a business card with the following info on it:

290lbs, 60hp, single cylinder, 500cc. four stroke, liquid cooled.

with the comment "Interested ? Please send email to mito500@cagivausa.com".

The Cagiva USA president said that they were looking for customer feedback on everything about the bike including consumer estimates of sell price.

WOW FOUR STROKE!

That mean it is possible to drive one here on the streets.

I also had the joy of riding (not owning) a Mito 125.

7 gears!

Well, I sent an email to mito500@cagivausa.com. I really hope they bring the bike here.

Am I the only one that's excited about this bike?!

Nope, I too would love to have a decent single cyl. track bike. Even more so I would love to have a bad-a$$ looking single cyl. bike to roam the streets on that isn't a converted dirt bike/supermoto machine. I personally have no interest nor need for a 100+hp bike for slinging around a track. Of course, I've never ridden on a track so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I've emailed the cagiva rep listed so everyone else, do your part!

How many of you remember the MuZ Skorpion? That bike had a Yamaha 660 raptor one lunger in it if I remember rightly, but only made about 20hp. Compared to the Mito, WTF is up with such a weak engine? And back in the mid 90's they still cost almost $7k!

I'm also very excited about the bike coming here, hopefully. Saw it at Atl show this weekend with Libido and his wife we all think it's a great idea.

I looked at a mito 125 before I bought the nsr250 two stroke I rode on the street for a year or two.

$8000 is waaaaaaay too much. While we might like it for its light weight and great handling, most folks are going to look at the horsepower and walk right by at that price. Truth be told, I wouldn't buy one for $8000. If they priced it at about what the SV650 and Ninja 500R are selling for ($5500-6000), I think they'll dominate their sector of the market (mostly new riders, with a minority of folks who appreciate great handling over straight line speed).
