brand new 999S on bid

just got this information from Lelang Raya that Indonesia custom office will clear their "stock" ( most of them are illegal import ) on February 9th, 2012. and guess what is among the stock.....

a brand new 999S !!!!!!!!

they asked for bulk price including 1 Harley Davidson Ultra Glide, 2 KTM motocross, 1 small bike. all starting from about $50.000

now I will try to push my luck....I will come to the warehouse on saturday to see the 999S ......

If the bikes were illegally imported, can you get them legally licensed to ride on the street if you buy one?

LOL, it's Indonesia! A few thousand rupiah to the right person and it'll be all okay.

But wow - a brand new 2003 or 2004 999S! Maybe the last in the world!

My goodness that bike looks so beautiful. Some lucky buyer's going to be very happy with it.

this bike was illegally imported so the government/custom office seized it. But because this is a goverment/custom auction, they will clear all of the document needed so the bike will be legal then.

the tax for item like this is 200% of the import value. thats why a 696 monster is being sold at US$25.000 in Indonesia and the new 1199 panigale is about US$42.000 ( standard version ). So many people try to smuggle them.

the auction is open for everyone. I need to put about $50.000 bank guarantee. if I lost the bid, the money will be return. Honestly, I never win before. In the past, a Ducati monster and a multistrada ( old type, maybe year 2005 ) were on action too.

Why is the bike and pallet wet? Has the bike been sitting outside for a few years?

Probably been sitting outside for all of five minutes before the next downpour of rain started. It's rainy season there right now.
