Desmo head of Harley bottom end!!!
This guy is clearly insane or a genius - but he has taken it upon himself to build a custom hardtail using Desmo heads on a Harley Bottom End...
I'm not sure what you purists might think, but I have to say, I ike it...

That is awesome and innovative! Maybe Harley should take a look at this!
I wonder how it would work if they used two front-facing heads, a la the XR1000 Harley (two exhausts exiting the front, two intakes entering from the back).

So it is a Harley motor that could be capable of higher rpm's if it could?

he says:
The Desmohog was not designed to make the Harley engine something it will never be, I did it because I could.

Nice engineering.
I wonder if he's had it on a dyno? More importantly, I wonder what it sounds like?

and that is the only reason why I like/appreciate it and the only reason he needs. I'd seen and read about the engine years ago but hadn't seen a completed bike until this thread. cool to see it 'done'.

I agree. It is refreshing to see something different that involves a fair bit of technical skill to build as opposed to the "customs" that are "built" by catalog or paint booth.
Many times people get obsessed with the performance aspect of a particular design and can't understand the idea of the challenge of the project instead of the end result.
It isn't necessarily the destination, it's the journey.
