Motowheels
Nick,
Great company. I've spent thousands with you and always been happy, but the "new" website is a disaster. Can't find products I know you guys carry, either through the model menu or the search bar. I thought this would get ironed out in a couple of months. I understand all the updating and product entries which need to be done, but this is baaaad.
Have you actually tried using the site? Maybe they were just over-ambitious but honestly, your site developer should be looking for a new job.
Has anyone else observed this train wreck?

I don't want to jump on the bandwagon, but just had this exact experience... Hopefully this comes off as constructive criticism

hey guys I don't know what's making it difficult for you to browse their new website, but if you could get more specific with the constructive criticism it would probably help them, and I'm sure Martin will see this thread.
An example could be "when I search for tool X I cannot find it, it should be found under Category X"

The new site makes it harder to shop by category. Additionally, the old site was easier to use in terms of cross-fitting parts (e.g., looking on the Monster portion of the site to look for parts that might fit on a Sport Classic, etc.).
As soon as the new site went up, I posted something down in the Motowheels portion of the Vendor part of this site, trying to tell then the new site was painful. Don't know if they ever responded.

It's a pretty thorough failure. For example, let's start with a model search:
2000>>>Ducati>>>996/996S/996SPS>>>"select"
You get 263 results (5 pages). Sound like a lot, but when you know how much they had before, how much stuff crosses over between models, and also how much can just be minor variations, it really isn't. At least 100 of those items are clutches or clutch parts--pressure plates/covers/spring retainers/etc. Really? Almost half? Many of the items are listed as "not available". Some others are listed as "discontinued". But mostly it's the absence of parts. It's hard to think of things that aren't there, but off the top of my head, how many master cylinders came up? Zero. What about exhausts? I think there may have been one or two Spark brand bits. Unfortunately I can't verify that because the site doesn't function at all at this moment. Attempting to click the next page of results gets you a mysterious "We are sorry but we could not find what you are looking for. Try again by using different terms in the search box below" screen.
OK, let's try a different tack--search by parts (any bike):
Parts>>>Brake>>>Master Cylinders
6 results (sorta). 2 actual master cylinders, an option for a folding or standard lever on one, a reservoir kit, a remote adjuster, and a piece of clear tubing. Those are your results. Take heart though, if you had tried Clutch>>>Master Cylinders you can choose a nice Brembo RCS....or nothing.
Hmmm, I wonder how many front caliper options come up.
Eight. That's for all bike brands, all models!
Let me try the search bar. Certainly that is idiot proof...
"master cylinder"
21 results. 3 masters + 1 folding lever option, 2 reservoir brackets, 2 speed bleeders (1 of them "not available"), 2 levers (1 of them "not available"), 1 Discacciati calipet set (marked as "sold"), 5 brake lines, 1 set of adjustable rearsets, and 4 varieties of Rizoma billet reservoirs (every one "not available").
One more shot. I know they carried these tasty bits...
"NCR"
No trick titanium parts--subframes or sprocket hubs. Instead you get a couple hats and T-shirts. Oh right, and 1 sticker.
