How do I price a used 1098R
I'm trying to figure out what a fair price is for a 2008 1098R that's been converted to a track bike. It's in good shape, but there are none of the street parts. Since the carbon fiber body work is so expensive, I'm having a hard time figuring out what it's worth.
Any ideas how to evaluate it?

Sell the carbon separately, and dress it with beautiful but cheap Chinese fairings for $350

I'm the buyer
Looking back, I see I wasn't clear. I'm not the seller, I'm the buyer. Someone is selling a 1098R in track config with race plastic -- no carbon fairings and no street equipment. I've seen some complete 1098Rs selling around $20-22k. How much less is it worth without the bodywork, lights, & mirrors?

Depends on mileage, service, amount of track use. A raced engine has a completely different life expectancy from a street used one.

Do you plan on tracking this thing? If not, see if he (or she) would be willing to sell it without the track goodies, assuming it comes with some (spare parts, tires, warmers, etc.). Likely he won't, but it's worth a shot if it means lowering the cost. That, or you could sell off the track bits yourself.
At the end of the day, it's still a track bike, and should be sold accordingly (i.e. much less than a street only bike). Visit the WERA boards and see what track bikes are going for. Maybe there's something similar on there for you to make your comparison.

Get on the WERA or NESBA boards and ask them.
Isn't the tail piece around $5k for those bikes?
