Ducati Seattle Changes
Seems like there are some big changes afoot at Ducati Seattle. Rumor has it that the General Manager, Dave R has been moved aside after an ownership shuffle. Their website has been down for days and a whole bunch of people fired. Sure times are tough, but this is no way to run a business!

Important changes indeed, but no official communication yet. I'm somewhat surprized that Ducati NorthAm does not push a press release to clarify the situation; this does not have to be in detail (can follow later), but minimal information is at least required...

That would be a shame. Ducati Seattle is one of the best dealerships in the US!
And the people are what make it so good.
Dave is one of the best in the bizz and the people that are doing this should get a clue...

It' odd that any business would kill their own presence on line by taking down the web site. I hope things get better for them...
Dave R is probably one of the most vocal dealers that has not only served Seattle well, but the community at large with his insight and friendly manner.

Yeah, im curious as well. WTF?? I've been there twice now. And it seems like it was a kick ass dealership. 1st time, me and a friend went in and got treated like, they knew us for a while. Showed us around the whole place, the dyno room, backshop. And i was planning on doing my service there on my SF.

I agree with Ducnut about the lack of clarity about the status of Ducati Seattle, Dave Roosevelt, his courageous staff and the new owners. Ducati Seattle is a second home to some of us in the NW and we consider Dave and staff as family. The news here is that several people were let go last week and that Dave R was demoted to a salesman. Some people fear that Dave will be given the Bums Rush out the door this week and have expressed that concern. There is no information at all to the customers from the new owner; not even a post card. The longer this situation stagnates the worse it will become. Hopefully Ducati NA will step in provide some clarity.
You can catch the chattter on Desmo Northwest if you are interested.

Ducati Seattle is the only reason I have continued to own Ducatis.

The new owners could single-handedly kill that dealership before they even give it a go...
Come in and take a well running shop with loyal customers and run it into the ground in a matter of weeks.
Maybe that's what they want?
I saw it happen here in Colorado - the Harley dealership bought a great Ducati franchise in the Springs.
They had no idea what they were doing, they wouldn't listen to any of the staff and soon started firing people - or employees just left.
Within months they had no customers and within a year they lost the franchise.
Total idiots! I'm sure that was a good investment.
To the new owners of Duc Seattle; if you don't want to throw your money away you might want to step back and open your eyes a bit...

some folks only see the bottom line. They have no idea about the worth of customer loyalty. Folks continued to by Japanese cars over the years cause the big 3 forgot about that important aspect and continued to build cars that they thought the customer should buy. Sad to see a loyal following be handled that way. Hope for the best!
