What do you want to tell Ducati's NA president? (No joke.)
Hello friends,
I won't go into too many details, but I will have the opportunity to voice a few of my personal concerns regarding the product line, customer service and general direction of Ducati to Ducati's NA President. I doubt anything I will say will be news; however, at least we'll know our voices were heard in the most direct way.
I don't hold back.
If anyone here would like their voices heard, post your thoughts here. I'll communicate concerns on Tuesday, 22 November, 2011.

Two things...
Congratulations on the product line...but
there is GREAT concern from a MAJORITY of owners of affected bikes on the future of our tanks and the court decision is not something we agree with.

Dear Mr. President, please take my plastic gas tank and shove it up your ass.
No joke.

X2. Thanks for knowing you had a problem but continuing to sell without warning for years. You did give me replacements and I appreciate that. However, those also fail.
BTW Purspeed, thanks for this opportunity and keep us posted.

The Multistrada is NOT a replacement for the ST. Bring back the ST. Please.

From a consumer's perspective, I think the plastic tank debacle is the biggest issue Ducati's facing.
Why do I care? I don't even own a Duc with one. But that's the main reason why. When I bought a second bike a couple months ago, I deliberately avoided anything new enough to have a plastic tank. So I bought a garage queen of an older bike (with metal tank), instead; I turned down a buddy's offer for a minty fresh Paul Smart w/600 miles. If enough people think like I did, that hurts Ducatis' resale values, which in turn will impact Ducati's new-bike sales. (I have no desire to buy a new, plastic-tanked Ducati, either.)
With the 1098 line, Ducati made a deliberate attempt to go after Japanese manufacturers' market share. Do you think the average Honda/Yamaha/Suzuki/Kawasaki owner is going to put up with this expanding tank garbage? Frying rectifiers and flaking rockers are bad enough. Maybe they'll get suckered into buying one Duc, but they're not going to make that mistake again. And they're not going to try to convert their UJM buddies into going Italian, either.

I would ask when are you going to build a parts wharehouse here in The States? Since we buy the largest share of Ducati's world wide and while your at it stock it well so we the customers don't have to suffer wait and wait for the parts to come from Itlay, and fix the damn problems with Acerbis on the plastic gas tanks and KTM on the radiators.

Thanks for the opportunity Purspeed! My wishes are the same as many...
1.) Make sure entire fuel system can tolerate ethanol
2.) Bring back a true sport touring machine
3.) Ensure parts availability
I have and ST (metal tank...so I'm lucky there), I stripped out bolt, waited for 6 months for my dealer to get it form Italy.

Limited and inconsistent customer support for existing customers plastic fuel tank failures - Why?
Shit class action settlement proposal on fuel tanks - Who are they kidding?
Ducati does not have the balls to redesign the fuel tank on new bikes because of cost and fear of its legal repercussions for their stupid-ass gas tank design decisions on current bikes. How can a company be so completely arrogant about quality, customer support and public opinion?
Want more?
