I would tell him to hire Dave Roosevelt of Ducati Seattle as his national sales manager.

Oh crap I am totally screwed....I have two Ducati's and a Moto Guzzi. Crazy thing is every time I go into the garage all I can think is Duc, Duc..Goose!
I think the trick to owning a Italian motorcycles is to have more than one bike! That way you can wait on parts and not quit riding.

I found this thread just today, but here's what I would tell Ducati's principals:
Nothing. Too late. I've moved on. I've kept my 2006 ST3s, but there is not one new Duc in the last 3 years that has remotely interested me. Being 50 now, I'm sure I'm way past the target market for the brand anyway, as they are clearly more interested now in Hooligan-wannabes (Hyper, Streetfighter, etc.) than they are the guys who consider themselves "sport tourers" (obviously, since they've completely abandoned the ST line -- and no the MS doesn't count).
Because I'm not a "one bike guy", I've supplemented my ST3 with a couple of older air-cooled BMWs ('84 R80RT and '88 R100RS). Now THOSE bikes could teach Ducati a thing or two about lasting design values (they could also teach CURRENT BMW designers several things about lasting values, but that's another topic for another forum).
Unless Ducati comes back with a TRUE sport-tourer, or possibly a new Supersport that doesn't look like an explosion in a plastic factory, then I'm probably out for good.

Adventure bikes are leading sales so why not a new elephant. Triumph is supposedly coming out with a small displacement bike which is targeted at emerging markets. I think a 250 or 350 single would be cool, but hey that's just me.

Bring back the Sport Classic 1000. It's never been so popular and prices are going UP...
Meanwhile, Norton, Triumph, Moto Guzzi and others are all building inferior cafe racers that offer less performance, but cost more... Don't let them eat your lunch!!!

I think the gas tank on my 2012 848 is starting to bubble after having it a month.... So I'd say fix the plastic tank for the love of motorcycling!

I just emailed Norton yesterday. Though, a STREETMASTER based on the Commando or Thruxton would be sweet.
Someone around me has a really sweet black SC. I want one every time I see him ride by.
