If Ducati were to ask you.......
If Ducati, Italy sent you the customer, a letter asking you for three (3) suggestions to improve the company product line be it motorcycles, apparel, etc, what would they be ?..

Reintroduce the ST series.
Put the Multi 1200 motor in it.
Make the bodywork as easy to remove as the 999.

How about 3 new supersports, 696,796,and 1100 !
Air cooled, fuel injected, fun to ride bikes that are easy to maintain !
Oh, and include a "S" model for each size !

#1: Would You PLEASE build a supersport with 666 cc's? 666 sounds mean and evil. I would like it to be red like the 2k models' red. Grey frame and BLACK fasteners. I DON'T want ANY fancy electronic shit on it. Just a regular white faced tach and speedo. I'd like the bike to make about 80hp. That's PLENTY for the twisties, and PERFECT for a track day guy such as Myself. I want it to weigh about 380 lbs. It needs to be thin. It also needs to cost about 8k. Can Ya do it? CAN YOU?!
#2: Would You PLEASE quit trying to be so Gee Dee 'avant garde' and 'hip' with the styling of Your bikes as of late? It's getting on My nerves.
#3: Would You PLEASE tell Your dealerships to STOP selling 'Ducati' T-shirts for $42? It's a tad much.
There You go.

1. sell me an 1199S for $20K
2. keep the new wet/slipper clutch forever
3. price apparel in line with normal brands of equal quality.

1. KISS - Too many different bikes out there now.
2. Like mentioned before, bring back the SS's. The 2003 800SS was a thing of beauty.
3. Dry Clutch, bring it back. It's what makes a Duc a Duc.

Dear Ducati,
I know it's be a shitload of time since I wrote, but you haven't replied to my last 31,648 letters, so I though I might try again.
For Christmas, send me -
1. A superbike that will start every time, aluminum tank and have REAL 15K service intervals
2. An air-cooled SS 1100 with lasting valve guides weighing 370 lbs, dry clutch and Ohlins all around
3. A new ST model that has the 1200cc Multi engine, fully adjustable suspension, weighs 400 lbs dry, and a DP gel seat stock.
Oh, and if you could see your way clear to financing all of this at nothing down and 3% on a five year loan - that'd be a gas.
Smooches,
C-Simian
