Removing Stickers from the Frame
Is there a specific method (or cleaner - i.e. goo gone) that makes taking the stickers off of the trellis frame?
As i'm sure you all know, the adhesive on the back of them is nasty stuff. I don't want to screw up the paint (red), so I'm willing to go slow and be patient... I've seen my bike without them, and it looks a whole lot cleaner.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I used a heat gun on low setting and peeled off as much as I could. Used Goo Gone gel to get rid of any residue remaining. Paint still looks good...

GooGone, WD-40, mineral spirits... they all work well fpr removing advesive residue. Stay away from anything with acetone in it: brake cleaner, denatured alcohol, etc.

Be careful if you use a heat gun. They get awfully hot very quickly. Use a hair dryer, wave it back and forth over the sticker, then patiently try an peel a corner up with your finger nail. Still using the hair dryer, continue heating the sticker while peeling it back on itself. Just be careful not to get the sticker/paint surface too hot. I tried to peel a Shell sticker off my fairing this way and the clear coat still started to come off with the sticker. Be patient and pull it off very, very slowly. Clean residue adhesive with WD40....Goo be gone stuff is very strong, took the urethane off my furniture!

WD40 FTW!!!
Take your time. Using an old credit card and keeping the adhesive wet with WD40 will do a great job and not harm the finish.
*On a tank or other painted part, the credit card may scratch the finish, but on the frame or other non high gloss finish it works great (and saves finger nails ).

I took the stickers off my 796 when I had it only a couple of weeks and all I needed was a hair dryer and lots of patience when I peeled them off. They came off fine and didn't leave any residue on the frame. The stickers came off more or less intact and I was able to put them on a piece of paper to store them with my owners book.

Just make sure not to sell your bike to anyone from California. Sheesh what a PITA it is to register a bike here without those stickers.
Made a mistake…removed emission sticker.
