Storing/Parking Your Duc Outside
So who where actually store/park their Ducati outside 24/7? I currently live in an apartment complex and they just built a covered parking area. My 848 is at my parent's garage 3 hours away and i would like to bring the bike up to where i live. My plan is to get a bike cover and use chains and lock on the bike. I also have theft insurance on the bike. Even with all that, I just don't feel right about parking a Ducati outside.
It does not get very cold in Texas but it can sometime get to around high 30*F on colder days.
What do you all think? My optional plan (i'm going to get killed for this) is to trade the 848 for a CBR that i don't really feel too bad about parking outside, getting dirty, and etc.

During the riding months I keep the bike in my back yard under a bike cover. During the winter it goes in heated storage at a friends office.
I'm not concerned about my bike being stolen or damaged (I live in a small "safe" town). I bought it to ride it, not sit in a garage hours away.

I know this is a little "out there", but what about bringing it inside the apartment? Are you on the ground floor?
When I was a kid, my Bultaco was stolen while parked outside and chained up. I lived in a second floor apartment. Later when I got my new Husqvarna CR 250, I pushed/dragged it up those stairs to park it inside!
