DP Light weight flywheel problems

I just put a Ducati Performance light weight flywheel on a Ducati DS1100 2 valve engine with wet clutch.

The DP part # for the light flywheel is 964575AAA. It is said to fit all modern 2 and 4 valve Ducati engines.

The problem I am having is that when I tighten down the large central nut that holds the flywheel to the end of the crank shaft I loose the free wheel of the starter clutch.

The starter clutch free wheels when turned CCW until I start torquing down the main fastening nut.

If I understand it correctly I should still have the starter clutch free wheel when the flywheel assembly is turned CCW even when the unit is tightened down to full torque specs.

Am I wrong? or am I missing something ???

Any help with this is greatly welcomed.

thanks

when you turn it ccw it should spin freely from the starter gears

Do you have the correct spacer? Dp came with new spacers. I have the instructions if needed.
