Which Loctite ?????

I have a BIMOTA Tesi 3D LE. It has a Ducati DS1100 2 valve engine with wet clutch.

Im wanting to know if I need to use Blue/Medium strength and/or Red/Strong strength thread locker on the following engine nuts;

1) the crank end nut that holds the flywheel/stator

1) the crank end nut that holds the small primary drive gear

1) the nut that hold the clutch hub/assembly

1) the nut for the front sprocket

! the small screws that hold the stator ring to the flywheel

Thanks for help on this

I don't think we can make blanket statements without knowing which model he has. For example, my ST3 has no Loctite on the front sprocket nut since it uses a washer with a locking tab. The book specifies a grease on the threads, nothing else.

If you put your bike in your sig block, then we can help more accurately.

I would think that if you downloaded a ducati manual for that engine it might answer your questions?

Another note, there is a Bimota forum here, maybe they can help?

Good luck!!!

If you use "loctite" brand, they have a variety of series of thread lockers. The most common series (often referred to as blue or red) need a separate "primer" when using zinc, cadmium, hot dipped, annodized or stainless bolts.

They have introduced a new "gel" series that does not require a primer.

So make sure you either buy the primer-less series or buy the primer.
