Sticky tires

Made an interesting observation today. I rode both the ST3, with Metzeler sport touring tires, and the Monster with gum ball Michelins. When I get home I roll up through the yard which is mostly dead grass and then across a drive way and back them into the garage. The difference is almost funny.

My Duc peeled all the paint off the floor, every time it leaves it takes some with it on the tire

I think it is cool when you get the tires really warm and sticky, ride through a gravel pull-off, and pick up 1/4" to 1/2" gravel with the tire.

Great post!

Following your super scientific advice these are my results.

Pirelli Dragon Supercorsa:

Michelin Power 2CT:

Dunlop Q2:

Thanks to you I ordered 2 sets of Dunlop Q2's because they pick up the most crap from my driveway.

I figure I can ride around the yard for fall clean up and sell the leaf blower to pay for my new tires.

Although I may buy into the testing method, I will question the validity of the implied results Q2s are very good tires but are not as sticky as the dragon supercorsa pros when properly heated. Then again I think the Q2s will make better street tires since they will not demand the same amount of heat as the pirellis.

See my picture above. My Supercorsa's look like worn out erasers, but did not pick up as much yard debris as my Q2's, therefore they are not as sticky.

OP was refering to Michelin Power Pures.... I have the same result... sticky as tar after a run, sick of cleaning the mess off the living room floor
Running through loose gravel when their hot is a pain in the arse as they pick it up & throw it out through the front of the mudguard.

I remember, as a kid going to the races with my dad, noticing the tires on the cars in the paddock & pit areas. I was always intrigued by the debris that clung to them and that some of the pebbles appeared to be imbedded fairly deep too. And that was 70s tire technology.
I suspect the Michelins on that Monster are a better grade of R rated rubber than those race tires of that time.
