Neat Shop and Pierobon Bikes
I just came back from vacation in Rome and parts of central Italy.
I was looking specifically for NCR parts and thus went to Lenci Racing outside of Rome-- hard to find and in the middle of nowhere.
Anyway I met a nice chap there named Paolo who used to work in SF at the Ducati shop there.
Anyway what most impressed me was the shop's two Pierobon 2V bikes. They race them in a special 2V category.
The shop has everything, even a classic bikes dept with a guy in there working on bevels and other early Ducati engines. Amazing stuff around shop. A Desmosedici, a super exotic Bimota, espresso, etc
I see the Pierobon bikes aren't extremely expensive and I am positive they are really fun. I think I'd like one of those at some point.
I share these photos in the interest of basically just seeing a neat shop that's really passionate about what they do.

Looks like a shop with some character, as opposed to the "operating room" type sterility of so many newer dealerships. Thanks for those pics and info on the race bikes.

No worries, Gentlemen. It was an awesome visit. I went to the Ducati Rome parts department too (about 80kms from this place) and they let me go into their shelved area. I was drooling on everything.
Big lesson for Italy though, it's really either Bologna or nowhere. Bologna is where all the parts are and the Italians are slower than say Americans... takes 10 days to get something within the country. You're better of driving there and picking it up yourself.
Best!

I was in Trapani / Palermo for about 2 1/2 months this past summer, visited both shops and Palermo had lots of stuff while Trapani was much smaller.....both friendly.
Did see a few super bike around Trapani and lots of Monster....and of course zillions of scooters that they drive like stupid and always have their foot almost touching the asphalt....in sandals....go figure.
Of course in August they are closed
