Where to buy gear in Milan?
Hi everyone,
I'm lucky enough to be off to Milan for a brief work visit in late November and hoped a local might be able to help out with some advice.
I've lately desired a Schuberth helmet but as they're not distributed in Oz have not been able to try one on.
The Schuberth website lists the attached dealers in Milan - which ones am I best trying?
Last time I was in Italy I visited the factory but couldn't do a tour as it was closed for 2 weeks due to the GFC. Fingers crossed I'll be able to squeeze in a visit this time! They might even have the new 1199 on the line!
Thanks,
neil.

In in Rome, and don't know much about Milan, but from a quick search on Google.it and from my own experiences with Italian Motocycle shops, I think a safe bet would be "Solo Caschi". The only question is whether they'll have it in stock, in the shop. SOmetimes they'll sell certain items, but when you go to the shop they have to order it from they're warehouse... which takes about a day.
That said, if you fancy a train ride/small road trip, Motorama in Firenze is arguably the best shop in Italy for bike gear. And I checked, they do sell Schubert helmets. motorama.it and they have an english version too.
Hope that helps.

Thanks mate! That does help.
I'm hoping to get to Bologna, so Firenze is not far away. Good tip!
cheers,
neil.

Hi Neilbron, if you have some time while you're in Milan, you should try to do the cathedral tour where they take you up on the roof. It is really quite impressive. Enjoy the trip!

....My wife has a buyer that lives in Milan I believe. He's a MotoGuzzi enthusiast (hates Ducati) but thats OK...so he's pretty tied into the moto culture over there...I'll PM you when I get some worth while info......

I'm a regular visitor to Milan but have never actually searched out motorbike accessories and/or stores......but here are my tips:
- If you're heading to Bologna you may want to go via Treviso and drop in to Valerisport ( .:: Valeri Sport ::.). These guys have arguably Italy's best range of all things to do with motorcycling....they've never let me down!!
- Since you're in Milan in late November see if you can book in and score a ticket to EICMA, it is Italy's biggest (and perhaps Europe's) and best motorbike expo....it's a given that Ducati will debut their new Superbike there.
enjoy

EICMA is scheduled for 8-13 Nov this year. Enjoy your trip through Italy...enjoy the great food, delicious gelato, culture and beautiful women for me!
