Shorai battery install on my '97 916
Finally got my Shorai battery for "Bella" my '97 916. Had to make a new bracket to hold it it but it's good to go. Got rid of the old lead acid battery, 20 foot long vent tube and clip; dropped over 9 pounds!
Attached are pics of the install and my bracket I made out of some aluminum scrap.

Very nicely done... Weight savings is nice! When my battery is junked, i'll go this route. Sucks I can't use my current battery tender, but then again may not need one.

just installed shorai and corsa battery box on 999.
between the stock battery and the stock battery box that was on the bike
looks like I dropped 10-11 lbs, surprised how much the stock battery box weighed
and the shorai battery is insanely light and worked much better then stock , ran it at recent trackday bike started better then ever.

Got my fingers crossed
Just had the Monster batt crap out. I just couldn't see not trying one of these batteries, only about 20bucks more than ordering local. I try and do business locally but I also try and patronize the Duc tenders. Motowheels got my business, they seem to support the Duc family well.
Looking forward to seeing if it lasts like the leadacids. I got 10 years out of the stock Buell battery. Long live the battery tender! I live in Wyoming and our bikes sit 6 months a year unless you wanna ride in salt when the weather tops 30F a couple times. I sure hate to see tenders go 70+ bucks for these. I can't see letting them sit 6 months unaided either. We'll see in the spring.

Good stuff. I am not due for a buttery yet but maybe this may suit me.
And hello from another Washington rider

I've gone 6 months or more with out using a tender on the Shorai battery.
As long as your bike does not have a draw on it from an alarm or something else--it can easily go for 6 months.
Traditional lead acid batteries lose about 10% per month. The Shorai loses less than 1% per month. If it does run low, you can charge them up with a car charger quickly. The little battery tenders don't do much for charging.
