POLL: 2011 East Coast Meetup up Fri night BBQ OPTIONS
FRIDAY NIGHT BBQ
These are our options for a Friday night BBQ.
OPTION 1: for $13pp the Restaurant will pull out their monster grill (pickup truck sized was the description) and under a covered porch (but outside) they will set up a BBQ for us with sides (potatoes, slaw, green beans etc) and everything necessary including plasticware etc. There is a bar just inside from the porch so we can get beers there.
UPSIDE: all taken care of, tough to go shopping for ourselves there so this is a perfect setup.
DOWNSIDE: we can't bring our own alcohol up to the building, have to buy theirs.
OPTION 2: for $120 total for 3 days, we can rent their grill and bags of charcoal, tow it outside someone's cabin, and do our own BBQ.
UPSIDE: we can do whatever we please
DOWNSIDE: very difficult to get groceries at Fontana (nothing within 30+ miles of twisties distance), would need to split up grocery cost, organizational issues up the ass, etc. etc. etc.
Lets keep the decision-making civilized and fun. also, as the organizer, I'll put in my 2 (massive and weighty) cents.
"with a dinner on saturday, a no-prep/organization required bbq on friday would be perfect.... we ride all day, roll up to the lodge, and eat everything we want. We buy one or 2 beers there, finish eating, and then go drink our own booze wherever else. I think renting the grill will be a logistics disaster and we'll have to end up worrying about divying up $, getting groceries from far away... huge Pain in the Ass. Organizer Ass-lexio votes for $13pp restaurant provided BBQ.

I voted for two because it'll be fun, but one works for me also, so all in all, I'm just there for chillaxication and don't care.

From one organizer to another, Alexio, you are a great planner. I vote for option 1. Also like the Saturday night dinner option mentioned on the meet thread. I am in. And I'm bringing beer. Come on May!

I voted for #1 and #3. I would like some Southern Hospitality from Metalhead.
