Let's see em! Also, what program are you using for the merge process. I've got CS4 and I'm not getting the awesome sharp HD look. Granted, I'm not savvy yet on the whole process but it's all a work in progress. Techniques?

I use Photomatix Pro along with PS CS3 to make HDR pics. Using a tripod, and capturing the exact same image using different shutter speeds/apertures is what i do. Honestly, 1 in a 1000 shots i do are with the HDR technique so im not the best answer. Of all the cameras i have, the digitals are usually left at home. LOL, i even recently took out my 5dmkii/70-200 2.8IS on the job and actually got so pissed off with lugging that beast around that i hiked 1.5 miles back to grab a holga 135 35mm and the Mamiya 7II!!! Sorry for the rant....but if you like HDR, check out getting back to film and either doing multiple exposures (using a film like velvia can do wonders with HDR) or getting your film scanned than working on them from there.

What are you shooting with? I shoot all of my stuff in RAW format (Nikon D90). I am running CS4 and use the HDR filter. I then use the unsharp mask command and tweak the levels and colors after I run the HDR. If you can set up autobracketing with your camera that is the easiest way to do it handheld.

I've got a D80 and am using bracketing...I'm just not savvy enough with the post HDR merge. I'll try that out and see how it works. Thanks!

This is how I process my photos after I finish the RAW/HDR processing. (If you just want a sharper image, just do step #1).
Once I open picture in photoshop I generally do the following:
1. Unsharp mask (20, 50, 1)
2. Fade unsharp mask—move slider all the way to the left, then move it to right until effect is good but not too contrasty
3. Auto Color
4. Fade auto color—I always do this step no matter how good or bad the autocolor looks. Generally I find my pictures are too yellow, sometimes too green. Tweak it here.
5. Histogram—sometimes I use the middle slider to even out tonal range. Usually needs very little tweeking.
Do this very first thing if picture is shot wide angle in room, I use filter, distort, lens correction (I don’t think you can do this to a B&W image, so convert it to RGB before this step). For my wide zoom lens fully wide, I use the remove distortion field, and use the number 3. After you apply this, flatten layers. Do this step before you try to correct perspective, rotate image, etc.
Perspective correction:
1 first rotate image until an imaginary vertical line in the center of the image makes the center of the picture appear perfectly vertical. Then I apply this, re-select all, go back in and do perspective correction. When you correct the horizontal, you then need to stretch the vertical a bit too to compensate for making the picture look too short.

Awesome! Thanks for the advice, I'll have to try that when I get some more time.

Look into "tone mapping" as this is what most people think of when they think of HDR, not the actual use of wider dynamic range.
